Alex N. Wenning, M.A., is Registrar of the College of Social Work at The Ohio State University and provides leadership for planning and managing the academic schedule of classes. Collaborating with the college’s Academic Affairs unit, he coordinates teaching assignments for Social Work instructors, including faculty, staff, doctoral students, and lecturers. Alex is a first-generation college student from a rural farming community in west central Ohio and now holds more than 15 years of work experience in higher education that encompasses a variety of staff and instructional roles on several different campuses. He has previous experience leading a regional academic professional association and a university diversity organization for LGBTQA+ faculty and staff. Alex joined Ohio State in 2018, is active in a downtown Columbus faith community, and currently volunteers as the OSU Chapter President of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. He earned a Master of Arts in English from Ball State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English summa cum laude from Wright State University. Alex has a variety of interests, including — but not limited to — plants native to Ohio, films, reading, cats, home remodeling, and public transportation.
