Alex Wenning is the Registrar of the College of Social Work at The Ohio State University and provides leadership for planning and managing the academic schedule of classes. Collaborating with the college’s Academic Affairs unit, he coordinates teaching assignments for all Social Work instructors, including faculty, staff, doctoral students, and lecturers. A first-generation college student from a rural farming community in west central Ohio, Alex now holds more than 20 years of professional experience in higher education that has encompassed both staff and instructional roles at several different campuses. In addition, he volunteers as the OSU Chapter President of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Alex has a variety of interests, including — but not limited to — plants native to Ohio, films, reading, cats, home remodeling, and public transportation.
