
Bio
Ashley Garcia is the Director of Continuing Education within the Office of Community Engagement. Prior to her appointment at The Ohio State University, she was the Prevention Program Supervisor for Alcohol and Drug Services at Columbus Public Health from 2016 to 2023. Ashley also spent 3 years with CPH as a Prevention Coordinator and is passionate about empowering others through education that foster resiliency. While at Columbus Public Health, she focused on increasing youth led prevention opportunities including creating pathways into the prevention field for those who completed their prevention programs. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University and a Masters of Social Work from Ohio State University. Ashley was the 2023 recipient of the Ohio Prevention Professionals Association Community Champion Award. Ashley holds credentials in both Social Work as an LISW-S and Chemical Dependency as a Prevention Consultant. A key passion is to continue to develop workforce development opportunities for professionals to advance the mental health and substance use fields.
