Return to Campus

Autumn Semester 2020

The University has announced a return to campus this Autumn Semester, with new health and safety protocols in place due to COVID-19. To account for these new safety protocols, the University, and our college, will be providing a mix of online, in-person, and hybrid classes. We know that you are eager to learn the details of how each of your classes will be taught, and we will update this information as it becomes available. Your advisor will connect with you by July 24 to help you finalize autumn course selection and to answer any remaining questions that you have.

The University has adjusted the academic calendar as part of the return plan. The first day of classes will be Tuesday, August 25, and the last day will be Friday, December 4. The last day of any in-person, on-campus instruction will take place Wednesday, November 25. All instruction in the last week of the semester, November 30 to December 4, as well as final exams from December 7 to 11, will be accomplished through online methods. The autumn commencement date and format will be announced at a later date.

Under this new schedule, the October 15–16 Autumn Break and November 25 vacation days have been eliminated, and classes will be in session on those dates. The Veterans Day (November 11) and Labor Day (September 7) holidays will still be in place.

The College of Social Work is dedicated to providing you with the best possible learning experience as we navigate these unprecedented times, and we look forward to welcoming you back to campus in August.
