Research Brief: Safer Society for Children

In the first half of 2017 alone, 1,764 cases of child sexual abuse (CSA) were reported in Pakistan. While reported cases of CSA have risen, efforts to combat this issue have either been narrow in outlook, or extremely small in scale. Safer Society for Children (SSC) was started by the Information Technology University of Punjab (ITU) to address the issue of CSA through targeted workshops for elementary school-age children, parents, teachers, police, and healthcare professionals.
