Dr. David J. Kinitz is a social and behavioral health scientist whose research aims to understand social, political, and economic systems that shape LGBTQIA+ health inequities, particularly as they relate to labor market phenomena. His community-engaged research draws on critical qualitative and mixed-methods methodologies. Prior to joining OSU as an Assistant Professor in the College of Social Work, Dr. Kinitz was a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University School of Medicine working with The PRIDE Study – a national, longitudinal study focused on LGBTQIA+ people’s health in the US. He continues to collaborate with The PRIDE Study and scholars across Canada and the US to advance science for the health of LGBTQIA+ communities, particularly as that science relates to job quality, education and training, poverty, and social welfare systems.
