First year social work students are highly engaged and intellectually curious, who want to make a difference in the world. Our students have a passion for helping others. Upon admission to the university, our new freshmen will begin as pre-social work students and complete pre-major coursework with their cohort during their first two years of study. Apply: Transfer Student

Transfer students are the highest percentage of enrolled social work students. Our transfer students bring unique perspectives and experiences. Our social work major provides flexibility to accommodate a wide range of learning needs including full-time working students, adult learners, students with families, and part-time students. If you have a passion for wanting to pursue social work we have a place for you.

If you are transferring into the social work major from another university or college, you must complete the application process to The Ohio State University as well as to the College of Social Work.
