Daniel Schmidt, LSW, is a first year doctoral student at The Ohio State University, College of Social Work. He is a Graduate Research Associate with Michelle Kaiser, PhD focusing on food security issues. Schmidt teaches social work courses as an Adjunct Faculty at Capital University, Columbus, OH, and Clark State Community College, Springfield, OH. He had a very diverse background in business before completing his BA in Psychology from Capital University and MSW at The Ohio State University and internships at the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center in Columbus, Ohio. As a U. S. Military veteran Schmidt has worked towards helping fellow veterans cope with the many disorders that have been associated with military service. His research interests will be to study the effects of combat trauma on individuals during their military service and also to look at current diagnoses of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder among veterans
