Erica Magier is in her first year of the combined MSW-PhD program where she is completing her MSW in the accelerated ASAP program. She earned her BSSW from The Ohio State University with Honors Research Distinction in spring of 2017. Her research focused on the eating behaviors of the first-year Ohio State students and how these progressed from high school to the beginning and end of the students’ first semester in college. She is interested in researching school and community connections and how extra-curricular programming can positively influence a child’s development within the school system. She currently works as a graduate research assistant with Dr. Dawn Anderson-Butcher and the LiFEsports program. She is also completing her field placement at Pickerington High School Central where she will be working on school-wide initiatives, individual mental health, smaller group programing, and implementing the LiFEsports programming in the district.
