Are discounts available for CE courses?

Discounts are available for the following:

• Current students and recent graduates of the College of Social Work.
• Alumni of the College of Social Work with a Stillman Elite Membership.
• Field Instructors who house students for their field placement will be able to utilize Fee Waivers.
• Agency/Organization Bulk Enrollment through a Purchase Order:
  • 5-9 participants = 5% discount
  • 10-14 participants = 10% discount
  • 15-19 participants = 15% discount
  • 20+ participants = 20% discount

I am not licensed with CSWMFT or CDP, can I still attend your trainings?

Courses are available for anyone seeking continuing education units or professional development and learning.  Our target audience includes human service professions such as social workers, counselors, marriage and family therapists, behavioral health professionals, public health professionals, health educators, chemical dependency professionals, preventionists, case managers, medical professionals, peer supporters and recovery coaches, and nurses.  Trainings that are funded through OHIOMHAS for the 988 Crisis Line target but are not limited to suicide and crisis call line staff.  Professionals can reach out to their licensing board to inquire if one of our courses would count under their requirements.

What do I do if I didn’t receive my CE Certificate?

Certificates are emailed to participants 7 business days after the training event if all attendance requirements are met and evaluations completed. If you did not receive a certificate after 7 days you may not have met CE requirements, the email may have been sent in with an error, or the email went into your spam drive.  Email cswce@osu.edu to inquire further.

Why isn’t my license number on my certificate?

The State of Ohio does not require license numbers to be listed on certificates and asks providers to allow a space for participants to write it in.

My certificate does not have an approval number for the CSWMFT Board.

Under OAC Rule 4757-09-05 – Continuing Education programs presented by academic departments or programs of counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy are accepted by the board for CE credit regardless of the provider status of the department or program.  As a result of this rule, the College of SOcial Work no longer has a board approval number.  We report attendance to CE Broker for the Ohio CSWMFT board, so participants don’t need to worry about how to upload their own attendance into CE Broker.

I forgot to complete the evaluation; can I complete it after the training and receive credit?

Evaluations must be completed within 3 business days of virtual live trainings and will close once the deadline occurs.  Participants who don’t complete the evaluation within this time frame will not receive credit after the survey closes.  All in person trainings require participants to complete the evaluation prior to their sign out and departure to receive credit.

Why do I need to provide my license number at registration and in the evaluation?

The board requires participants to list their professional license number at sign in/registration.  Our office uses the license number listed in the evaluation to ensure uploads of attendance into the CE Broker system for eligible CSWMFT and CDP license holders who meet the course requirements.  To find your license number if you don’t know it, visit https://elicense.ohio.gov/

What if I forgot to sign in/out for an in-person training?

Can I get credit for taking a self-paced course in Scarlet Canvas more than once?

Participants will only be given credit for a course 1 time, but they can access the materials as long as the course is open. 

Why can’t I register for self-paced courses/why have I lost access to a self-paced course I was signed up for?

1. We have recently retired some of our older courses, so it is possible that a course you were signed up for may have recently closed. We routinely retire older courses to keep our content accurate and up to date.

2. We are also shifting to a new enrollment management system that launches on July 1, 2025. Courses that are not retired will transition to the new system. To prepare for this transition, students will lose access to all self-paced courses on June 30 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Please be sure to complete any self-paced courses you are enrolled in by no later than June 30 at 11:59 p.m. 

Once courses transition into the new system, they will become available in July. Please note, however, that your progress in the course will not be saved during the transition, so please make sure you complete your course(s) and download your certificate(s) by June 30 at 11:59 p.m. before you lose access!

What if I experience technical difficulties in a virtual training – will I still receive credit?

If you have technical difficulties where you lose connection, or your computer logs you out of the ZOOM contact the Office of Continuing Education during the event to alert them of the issue via email at cswce@osu.edu.  Staff will work with participants to the best of their ability per board approval rules to ensure attendance requirements are met and credit given to participants.

Can I dial into a virtual training by phone?

Yes, if you need to dial in by phone to a ZOOM training you must email the Office of Continuing Education so that staff members are able to match your attendance record and receive credit.  The email to cswce@osu.edu must be received by staff the day of the training or credit will not be given.

I am interested in presenting or developing a CE course.
