In a recent interview with the Office of Advancement, current BSSW student, Ella Neruda, talks about her transition starting as a student at Columbus State to eventually becoming an official Buckeye at Ohio State.
Neruda goes in depth about her diverse academic journey and how she eventually found her calling in macro social work, having observed the ways in which it allowed her to intertwine her professional aspirations as an advocate for disabled communities with her own lived experiences.
“As social workers, we aren’t experts who come in and fix our clients’ lives,” says Neruda. “We’re growing right alongside them.”
