How the “Grow Your Own” Program Makes an Impact in Dublin City Schools

In the summer of 2023, a group of 25 teachers and staff members from Dublin City Schools (DCS) began a rigorous two-year program that would end with participants receiving a master’s degree in social work from The Ohio State University and a job with a DCS school as a mental health specialist.

Three years later, these same educators are utilizing their degrees to make a positive impact on their students and district.

This spring, the American Institutes for Research released Winning Beyond the Game: The Million Coaches Challenge Implementation Study, an independent, multiyear evaluation examining the impact of the Million Coaches Challenge (MCC) – a national effort to equip coaches with the skills needed to support young people both on and off the field.
