On Friday, May 2, over 600 social work graduates and their loved ones celebrated their accomplishments at the college’s 2025 Evening of Recognition.
This year’s ceremony took place at The Ohio State University’s Schottenstein Center, where students were at the front and center of this well-known event venue. Accompanying this loved locale was a dedicated social wall featuring #WeAreSocialWork, where participants were able to share in real-time photos and messages on the arena’s big screens. Friends and family also joined the event’s livestream to support and celebrate virtually.
Kicking off with opening remarks from College of Social Work Dean David Jenkins, the night proved to be a joyous and memorable commemoration for everyone in attendance. If you missed the event or simply want to replay your favorite moments, check out the recording by clicking here.
Over the course of these celebrations, the college’s multimedia content reach hit over 23,000, including 1,000 post-likes and interactions. The college also had 404 unique viewers tuning in during the livestream with another 1,303 total stream views and 2,300 impressions.
The festivities continued the following Sunday, May 6, at the university’s Spring Commencement, where social work students joined over 12,000 of their peers also earning their degrees. Ohio State is one of the few universities where all graduates participate in a single ceremony, and where each graduate gets his or her diploma at the ceremony.

On behalf of the College of Social Work, congratulations to this year’s graduates and all their hard work!
