Congratulations to MSW student Hanna Kancherla who was recently interviewed on Cleveland’s WKYC-TV Channel 3 news for her advocacy work. She spoke about House Bill 29, a bill that would ensure adequate supply of feminine hygiene products and other menstrual necessities to incarcerated women in Ohio. Kancherla has a field placement at ARCH (Accompanying Returning Citizens with Hope), a re-entry organization primarily serving formerly incarcerated individuals.
“At ARCH, I have been collecting testimonies from formerly incarcerated female clients to send to the Senate once the bill makes it to that stage,” says Kancherla. “I also attended the second hearing for the bill in front of the House Government Oversight Committee for proponent testimony and am very excited about the future of this bill and my advocacy for it!
