Congratulations to Dr. Joyce Lee who is the recipient of the 2025 Society for Social Work and Research Excellence in Research Award for the article “Family stress processes underlying material hardship and parental detachment and warmth amongst racially diverse fathers and mothers with low income.” Co-authored by Dr. Susan Yoon, the article appeared in the Journal of Family Violence.
The award recognizes collaborative, rigorous research among social work researchers and community partners advancing community science to tackle complex social problems to achieve an equitable society.
“I am deeply honored to receive the SSWR Excellence in Research Award,” says Lee. “My gratitude goes out to SSWR, co-authors and student collaborators, as well as supportive colleagues at the college, including Dean Jenkins who nominated me.
