MSW '64

James B. O’Hora

James’ first non-profit job was primarily with orphaned children. He focused on getting children placed with new families and helping children and their adoptive parents create new lasting memories. The majority of James’ career was focused on children ages 8-18 that were, at the time, labeled Emotionally Disturbed. He has also worked with his local United Way chapter as a member agency executive on their local campaigns. In addition to his MSW, James also has an ACSW.

James’ philosophy as CEO was to hire, train and develop staff that truly care about the people they serve and to ensure that staff had the necessary skills to make a difference.

NOTABLE: James has had a plethora of experience in the field of social work. He served as CEO of five nonprofits over a span of 35 years and taught a business ethics course at Broome Community College in New York.
