Celebrating our CSW Hall of Fame Recipients

The College of Social Work hosted its Hall of Fame ceremony, where we honored our alumni and the impact that they have had on our society in the human and public services, in higher education and in the alleviation of the conditions that threaten the human condition. This year’s ceremony honored Molly Rampe Thomas and Angela Sausser, Distinguished Career Award winners, and Brittany Ward, Distinguished Recent Alumnus/Alumna Award winner.

Buckeye Watch Party

The College of Social Work hosted an alumni reunion and watch party at Pins Mechanical to watch the Buckeyes play Minnesota. Fellow social work alumni gathered for an afternoon of games, networking, food and football!

Big Ten Face-off

You’re invited to meet up with Ohio State alumni and friends for a Big Ten hockey face-off between the Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines. Before puck drop, enjoy a family-friendly indoor tailgate spread complete with entertainment and prizes for all ages. Attend the game and tailgate for under $30.

An Update from Dean David Jenkins

We are nearing the end of Autumn Semester, and our students are busy taking exams and completing projects. It has been an active semester for our college. One of our new initiatives was hosting a National First-Generation CSW Celebration Day. More than 50% of our students are the first in their families to pursue a post-high school degree. We also co-sponsored a rivalry evening at our shared reception with the University of Michigan at CSWE in Denver. While we may be archrivals on the football field, we demonstrated our collaborative spirit in the field of social work education. We also have been working on adding new global opportunities for students with trips to Portugal and India planned for 2026.

The College of Social Work’s magazine, The Stillman, has arrived in mailboxes. This issue focuses on the engaging research and scholarship of our faculty and students. CSW research builds critical evidence that the social work profession helps foster a better world. As a top social work program in the country, our rigorous community-engaged research makes a difference and pushes the boundaries of what is possible.

The social work profession would not be what it is today without your dedication to make this world a little better for those whose lives you have touched. You are a valuable part of our college and community.

Best wishes for joyful holiday season.
