Alumni & Friends

From the inception of social work as a profession in the early 1900s, our college has been a leader nationally and within our own community. Our graduates amplify the voices of those who are often ignored, ensuring their safety, dignity and quality of life.

Social work is a natural home for the academic preparation of great leaders; graduates of our college have risen to become CEOs of Netcare, United Way, and organizations with significant community impact.

Kentucky native finds her niche in social work

De’Anna Benson discovered her passion for social work in high school while volunteering with special education students. She received her BSW from the University of Louisville, then opted to advance her knowledge and career with an MSW from the top-ranked social work program at The Ohio State University. Every day, as a nephrology social worker in Nashville, Tenn., De’Anna is making a difference in the lives of kidney patients and their families, helping them navigate care and support in their journey toward improved health.
