Therapeutic Play Therapy 9:00 AM – 4:15 PM This training will provide theory, history, and practical experiences along with skills that prepare counselors and social workers to integrate play into psychotherapeutic work with children and families. Demonstrations and experiential learning about therapeutic play therapy techniques will be presented. Shayla will also guide you to develop techniques for particular populations and diagnoses through case study examples. Participants will learn: Presenter: Shayla Shavers, M.Ed, LPCC, earned a BA in psychology and M.Ed in community counseling from Ohio University. Shayla is employed as the Foster Care Clinical Supervisor for Youth Advocate Services in Columbus Ohio and is responsible for counseling children and families. Currently, Shayla instructs at Ohio Dominican University and has also instructed at Ohio University; she lectures on study skills, group dynamics, and leadership styles.
