Is it hard to take the time to do your job right, feeling pressured to get results, feeling rushed by insurance companies, clients and their family members, your employer, and your concern for client’s best use of time and money? This workshop will teach principles and techniques to save time AND be more effective. We will learn brief therapy from a variety of perspectives, including narrative therapy and of course Solution-Focused therapy, looking at the strengths, weaknesses, and range of applications of each approach. Bring stuck cases to test your presenter in live demonstrations.
· Come to understand the value, principles, and limitations of brief, time-effective therapies
· Learn the theory and techniques of Solution-Focused Therapy
· Learn about other schools and techniques of brief therapy
· Learn about applying brief therapy to some specific populations and problems
Jim Foley has 20 years of experience working with children, adults, and families. Jim has helped clients with emotional, developmental, behavioral, cognitive, learning, and relationship problems; provided counseling/therapy in homes, at agencies, and in schools from kindergarten through college; and presents workshops on a variety of topics.
