Working in a Pressure Cooker

Tension, pressure and conflict are part of everyone’s working day and keep you from being productive on the job and at home. Designed for any level in any type of workplace, this workshop will help you combat the effects of job stress and provide you with positive strategies for coping with workplace time constraints, stress and pressure.

This full-day workshop will provide participants with effective time management principles, help participants clearly assess personal stressors and challenges, and expand their understanding of health and wellness in taking a proactive approach to surviving in today’s workplaces.

Objectives:

  • Understand basic principles of time management, including assessing personal time wasters and developing an Action Plan to impact productivity killers
  • Recognize the sources, symptoms and effects of stress
  • Clearly identify events and situations that Can and Cannot be controlled or changed
  • Know the connection between stress and performance and the effects of an underload and overload of stress
  • Define positive and negative copers
  • Understand change as a stressor and know how to better adapt to personal and workplace change
  • Understand the AAABC’s of Stress Management
  • Complete an individual Action Plan to deal with ongoing work-related and personal stress and pressures

Presenter: Ruth McMonagle, MSSA, MBA, is President of Resource Management Associates. Ruth has been an independent trainer and consultant for over twenty years, specializing in management/supervisory training and increasing personal effectiveness. Ruth worked for 13 years in child welfare in many capacities, from caseworker to executive director.
