This is a fast-paced workshop designed to help new supervisors develop an awareness of what is involved in moving into the role of supervision, and provide an understanding of the best way to establish credibility and build respect as a supervisor.
At the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
· Understand supervisory responsibilities
· Avoid common first-time supervisory mistakes
· Understand the basics of coaching, giving effective feedback, and documenting employee performance
· Successfully transition for ‘do-er’ to supervisor
· Understand how to supervise former co-workers and maintain professional boundaries
· Effectively use the tools of individual conferences and unit meetings
Presenter biography:
Presenter: Ruth McMonagle, MSSA, MBA, is President of Resource Management Associates. Ruth has been an independent trainer and consultant for over twenty years, specializing in management/supervisory training and increasing personal effectiveness. Ruth worked for 13 years in child welfare in many capacities, from caseworker to executive director.
