BRAVO works to eliminate violence perpetrated on the basis of sexual orientation and /or gender identification, domestic violence, and sexual assault through prevention, education, advocacy, violence documentation, and survivor services-both within and on behalf of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender communities.
Accessibility can mean much more than changing a few gender pronouns. This workshop will discuss the practical issues of providing services to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) survivors of domestic violence. Topics will include assessing the victim and batterer, outreach strategies, and other ways to minimize barriers for male and female LGBT survivors seeking services.
