Managers and supervisors can spend from 30% to 50% of their time dealing with employee personnel issues. The management and supervision of employees has a direct effect on the efficiency and effectiveness of an organization in their provision of services to clients/consumers. The walking wounded is a term used to describe a specific type of worker who is difficult to manage and creates an “us versus them” environment in the work place. This session will look at how to effectively deal with employees in general and the walking wounded in creating a healthy work environment.
Those attending this session will learn how to:
• Recognize and identify the patterns of interaction displayed by workers by type and function
• Effectively interact, manage and supervise difficult employees
• Identify appropriate steps of intervention based upon patterns of interaction
• Implement specific processes to improve management/worker interaction
• Explore a philosophy that serves as an on-going guide to management in general
