Working with the Atheist Agnostic Client

This training is designed to help the participant develop therapeutic skills to assist them with the addicted client who wants to be involved in 12 step recovery while struggling with a higher power concept

At the completion of this training:

·         Participants will be able to help addicted clients develop their own spiritual belief system that can help them engage with other AA/NA/CA members

·         Participants will be given tools to help the client feel more comfortable in a 12 step support group

Presenter, Jennifer H. Haywood, LISW, LICDC, received her MSW in 1996 from OSU, and her CCDC III in 1997.  She has specialized in addictions and dual diagnosis assessment and treatment since 1996.  She has had a variety of work experiences in the field, and has been a trainer and presenter since 1998, and an adjunct professor at OSU in the MSW program and at Columbus State in the Mental Health/Chemical Dependency/Mental Retardation program for almost 4 years.  Her specialties also include DSM-IV-TR trainings, Drug Free Workplace Trainings, and several other mental health and human behavior theory courses at OSU.  She has been an evaluator for the CPM oral exam for the state of Ohio since 1998 and continues to see clients in an individual therapy setting as well as  conducting assessments with mental health clients and dually diagnosed clients with Matrix Integrated Psychological Services.
