FACULTY POSITIONS – AVAILABLE FALL, 2009 The Ohio State University College of Social Work invites applicants for multiple tenure-track and/or tenured positions beginning Autumn Quarter 2009. Rank is Open. Preference will be given to candidates who have a strong research interest in Child/Family Welfare or Health Disparities, although other substantive areas will be considered. Preference will also be given to people who can teach macro practice/administration, although those with preferences for teaching in other areas will be considered. Applicants for positions at the rank of assistant professor should be able to teach at all levels of the curriculum, have a beginning publication record, and demonstrate the potential to secure external funding to support their research agenda. Those who seek consideration for appointment at a higher rank are expected to have a more established record of publications and scholarship sufficient to merit tenure upon hire or soon thereafter. Moreover, to receive consideration for a senior level appointment, the applicant must have a demonstrated ability to secure funds for their research agenda. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in social work or a related field. Applicants who expect to teach practice courses must have the MSW degree and at least two years of post-MSW social work practice experience. The College of Social Work offers accredited BSSW and MSW programs and an interdisciplinary PhD program. It is ranked among the top 20 public schools of social work in the nation. With a faculty of 30 plus a field staff of six, the College enrolls approximately 200 BSSW, 450 MSW, and 40 doctoral students. The University is located in Columbus, the state capital, a vibrant and diverse metropolitan area of more than one million people. It is the largest city in Ohio, and 15th largest city in the country.
