Social Administration Courses

Required Social Administration Courses:

742.02     Staffing
Effective leaders possess the skills to assess and influence organizational culture.  In addition, this course emphasizes methods of selecting, evaluating, and rewarding staff, as well as designing work to attain maximum client outcomes.

742.04     Program Design
This course recognizes that a program’s ability to perform on behalf of its clients is a function of the quality of the program’s design.  Content focuses on social problem analysis, articulation of goals and client outcome objectives and the design of empirically based programmatic interventions with a high probability of attaining change for clients.

742.06     Management Information Systems
Students acquire the skills to select indicators of program performance and management that information to achieve client outcomes.

743.03    Advanced Community Practice
Human service programs operate in communities.  Effective leaders have the skills to engage in community level collaborative practice.  This course focuses on collaboration,  group decision making, community level intervention and strategies for influence.

742.05    Financial Management  
Students acquire knowledge and skill associated with budgeting, analysis, and management control in non-profit human service organizations including financial report reading, program costing and break-even analysis.

An exploration of a variety of important elements of agency resources including grant writing, capital campaigns, volunteered management and special event fundraising.
