Regardless of your personal view of the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, the men and women who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces deserve Americans' support, a view shared by several undergraduate students. To show their support, undergraduate student Amanda Merz, classmates, and friends raised over $400 to purchase everyday staples such as batteries, mouthwash, and moisturizer lotion not readily available in the mountainous terrain of Afghanistan that the soldiers need. Alumni who attended a professional training day in December also contributed items in support of this effort.
A young Marine from Strongsville, Ohio and members of his military unit now stationed at an Afghanistan outpost received 27 boxes that the students prepared during their holiday break.
Students filling boxes to remind to remind the troops of home and those who support them.
