Social Work Alum’s Book Lands Prime Spot in Ohio State’s New Student Union
Ohio State’s new Student Union boosts a lot of impressive sightings—one of which is a book displayed in its Stained Glass Lounge, authored by social work alumna Noreen Palmer, MSW ’98. Palmer’s book, Going Off: A Guide for Black Women Who've Just About Had Enough, was published in 2002 by St. Martin's/McMillan Press and examines common scenarios that can lead to anger in friendships, romantic relationships, families, and the workplace.
Recently, Palmer attended a reception for alumni who donated books to the second-floor lounge, which provides a breathtaking look over the South Oval, and received a plate featuring an illustration of the new Ohio Union. Palmer currently works as a Regional Outreach Coordinator for the OSU Medical Center.
