Tenure-track faculty positions

The Ohio State University College of Social Work invites applications for four tenure-track faculty positions (open rank) beginning in Autumn 2023.

Clinical-track faculty positions

The Ohio State University College of Social Work invites applications for four clinical-track faculty positions (open rank) beginning in July 2023. Substantive expertise and experience in content areas such as substance use disorders (SUDs), general clinical (therapy) experience, child services settings, community and social justice, technology and practice, and research methods is desirable, but exceptional candidates in other areas may also be considered. Positions are 12-month appointments.

Open rank Tenure-Track Faculty—Environmental justice using community‑engaged GIS and geospatial methods

The Ohio State University College of Social Work invites applications for one tenure-track faculty position (open rank) focusing on environmental justice using community-engaged GIS and geospatial methods beginning in Autumn 2023. We seek a community-engaged environmental researcher with the ability to use geospatial analytic techniques who will complement the work of the college’s distinguished food justice and environmental justice scholars.

The building, centrally located on campus, sits within steps of a university bus stop and convenient parking garage. The building is also home to some of the most supportive people on campus – the community that is the College of Social Work.

Commitment to Diversity

The College of Social Work continues to make intentional efforts to: (1) recruit and retain diverse students, faculty and staff; (2) expand scholarship across multiple diverse areas; (3) create an inclusive curriculum, and (4) engage collaboratively with local and global communities.

  • 29 percent of the college’s incoming MSW class are students of color
  • 40 percent of its Columbus campus BSSW students identify as first generation
  • 35 percent of its BSSW students are underrepresented minorities.

Activism

The college is known for its strong advocacy work for the most vulnerable among us. From voter registration drives and community engagement conferences, to an annual D.C. Immersion Advocacy student program, and on-staff advocacy director, the college helps students, faculty, staff and alumni navigate the political and policy worlds through workshops, trainings, collaborations and outreach opportunities.
